Broken Garbage Disposal

So one night Jacob started screaming and yelling that the sink was leaking and he needed something to catch the water with.  I ran into the kitchen and grabbed our trusty old Popcorn container we got for our wedding almost 6 ears ago and it did the job.

Little did we know that it was going to take the maintenance guy almost 3 weeks to fix it.  The manager said that when that happened to someone else they did their dishes in the bathtub.  So, I keep my bathtub clean, but is it ever really clean?  I am such a germ-a-fobe that I would never clean dishes in the bathtub that were going to touch my lips.  I think that is slightly insane.
So once they replaced the garbage disposal, needless to say we had a lot of dishes to catch up on.  here were so many that our trusty dish drainer would not do the job.  We had to call out the big guys and use towels.  I however am happy to say we are back to old Whitey our dish drainer now.
After having our garbage disposal fixed for about 2 hours, I decided I needed to run it to see how it worked.  Little did I know my amazing tweezers I have had for about 10 years had snuck their way down in the disposal.  I was wondering why our disposal was making a horrible sound when it was brand new and looked down to find my beloved tweezers mangled.
Needless to say I added tweezers to my Christmas list.  Santa listened and I have already put the new bad boys to work.

Wayback Wednesday...........

I am so behind in blogging so every Wednesday I am going to blog about something I missed over the past few months.  They will not be in order but this is our family journal and so I will be able to include everything.

Halloween.  I know................ it's really late.

Jacob and I have almost been married for 6 years and we have not yet been to a pumpkin patch together.  To make matters worse Jacob has never been to a pumpkin patch at all.  So we asked our good old trusty friend "Google" and he did not lead us astray.  We followed our GPS and it led us to this cute little patch in someones backyard (farm).
I am too scared to go into a corn maze but I thought I could handle this one.
I felt pretty darn safe in my hubby's arms.

When he left I was completely lost.

To the rescue

Love us

Found our first pumpkin

2 day before Halloween and still a lot of pumpkins

So glad I found a perfectly round pumpkin, while Jacob was looking for pumpkins right for carving.
We found a duck fan on the farm.

Found his perfect pumpkin

Nothing better than Big Jud's to end a perfect date night.  They have the biggest burgers and they are so good.  I also think they have the best homemade buns in the world.

Fresh Cut Fries

This is a comparison of 1/4 of their burger to one of their fries.
I may not be a fan of Rexburg winters but they do have some beautiful landscapes.

Put your "O" up!!!!

Carving, ignore the dirty kitchen

Before the pumpkins went out to the porch
We love our little Halloween ducks. We have some for Christmas too, just you wait.
Jacob's pumpkin, he is a scary guy.
Of course I made a pirate, that is because I am a real pirate.
Both of our pumpkins
Halloween was really relaxed this year. We did not dress up or go to any party's.  I was just getting over the flue so all we did was venture out to carve our get our pumpkins and go to dinner.  Maybe next year we be mo0re eventful.  We still had a lot of fun though.

Dear Santa

I really really really want this necklace for Christmas.  Since it is still November and National Adoption Awareness Month,  I thought this fit really well with our journey in adoption. As I was looking through The R House Couture I saw this necklace and knew it was perfect.

I feel that without hope I would not be where I am today.   To be in the process of adoption you have to have hope that things will work out the way they are meant to.

Courage is what I want to have! I love the definition of courage ( Courage-  bravery, boldness, fearlessness, mettle, fortitude, or intrepidity is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation).
I love this and I have the perfect place to hang it in our house.  It will be a great reminder to mus of why we are going through what we are going through.
I gave my Santa list to Jacob so we will see what happens.  I am excited for Christmas and all of the family traditions we have started.

Adoption Defined

adopt

[uh-dopt]

a·dopt

verb (used with object)

1. to choose or take as one's own; make one's own by selection or assent: to adopt a nickname.
2. to take and rear (the child of other parents) as one's own child, specifically by a formal legal act.
3. to take or receive into any kind of new relationship: to adopt a person as a protégé.
4.to select as a basic or required textbook or series of textbooks in a course.
5.to vote to accept: The House adopted the report.

As I was looking through some blogs today which I have been doing a lot during National adoption Month I came along this post and loved it. It was very interesting to me to see the dictionary definition of adoption. To me adoption cannot really be defined. It means so many different things to so many different people.

As I think about adoption I always get such a great feeling. I know that it may be the only way that I can be a mother on this earth. It means bringing a child to a loving home who has been praying for and thinking about them for almost 6 long years. It means going to Black Friday excited to pick out toys and presents to put under our tree for "our child", it is an answer to my prayers.

I will never forget the day I knew that our family would grow through the miracle of adoption. I love it and am excited to get moving in the process.

How would you define it?

Day 5

This is such an amazing quote. My life has not turned out the way I though and I have had a hard time accepting that. I have been angry, sad, and very very mad. I however have had a change of heart and know that I just have a new path in life. Adoption is that path and I am happy, joyful and excited for that. Oh how life and your outlook on it can change.

National Adoption Awareness Month!!!!!!

Day 4- My path to adoption

Note: I have committed to try and post throughout the month about adoption. As Lindsey from the R house would say "The challenge is NOT to write about adoption every single day (although you can!), the challenge is to make an extra effort to write about adoption this month". So I am going to do just that and post when I can. So here goes.......

I love Adoption!

I feel that the path that brought me to to adoption is very important.

After trying to have children for over 5 years I was told, "You are INFERTILE and will never be able to have children of your own".

It hurt

I cried

I worried

I wondered

I can remember as a young girl dreaming of being a mother someday. I am kind of a hypochondriac and I always worried I would die before I was a mother. To me there could be nothing worse. I would pray that as long as I could have a baby that I would die whenever I was meant to. I know that is morbid but I was young.

I now wonder if the hole in my heart will ever be filled

I wonder if my husband will ever be a father

I wonder if the baby clothes we have will ever be used

I wonder if one day I will have a child to bring out of sacrament when they are upset

I wonder a lot of things

I know the path of adoption is not going to be easy. I will still cry. I will still worry. I will still wonder. However, I will not do it alone. I have the strength I get from my Father in Heaven, the strength I get from my loving husband, the strength I get from my family and friends. It helps to know I am not alone.

I am never going to let those doctor's words get me down again. Just because I am INFERTILE does not mean that my dreams will not come true.

Infertility does not mean I can't be happy.
Infertility does not mean I won't be able to love.
Infertility does not mean my life will be full of heartache.
Infertility does not mean I am incapable of anything.
Infertility does not mean I am worthless.
Infertility does not mean I am less than anybody else.
Infertility does not mean I can not a mother.

Day Thirty

what changed this month and what you hope will happen next month

This month I had my last day in my 1st grade class. It is sad. I have become very close to the kiddos and don't know how it will fell when I get back to school in two weeks. The nice thing about Idaho is we get to weeks off of school for potato harvest. So that brings me to next month. Next month I will start teaching Special Education and I am excited for the change.

Hoping to Adopt

Follow their blog, grab their button and help them in their adoption journey.

I have been following this families story for a very long time. They are such a sweet family and have the cutest little boy in the world. They are hoping to adopt again and they found Z through a friend. If you know anyone who is looking to place their child with an amazing family through adoption this family is hoping to find the new addition to their family. Please pass the word on to help build this family's eternal family.

I can't wait until Jacob and I are able to add to our family through the miracle of adoption. Such a blessing.

Day Twenty Five

ten ways to win your heart

1. Look like this man!!! Such a hottie.
2. You have to be funny, I have to have laughter in my life.
3. Being able to talk about nothing is a must. I love to talk and have someone talk back.
4. A listener, sometimes when I am struggling and feeling down it just helps to have someone to listen to.
5.Cuddling, I love to cuddle up in a blanket and watch a movie.
6. A cook, I cannot cook every meal for the rest of my life so cooking is a must.
7. Love kids as much as I do.
8. Can deal with watching HSM because I love it and it will forever be a part of my life.
9. Be an advocate of and love adoption
10. Love me. Good thing my amazing husband is amazing at all of these things.

We were really meant to be.

Day Twenty-Four

weird things you do when you’re alone

1. Watch shows that are not good for me

Rel World (just bad)
Real Housewives (need I say more)
16 and pregnant (emotional for me)
Teen Mom (same)

2. Never wear a bra. Who wants to, they are awful.

3. Eat ice cream straight out of the carton.

I am sure there are more but I can't think of any right now.

Day Twenty-Three

something you always think “what if..” about

What if I have cancer....
(Jacob thinks this makes me sound crazy. Cancer just scares the crap out of me)
What if we are never children....
What if I fail in this class.......

I think that is about it. If I think of more I will add to the list. However, I am so glad that I believe in prayer and the comfort my Heavenly Father gives me and so I really don't worry too much about these.

Sunday, September 18, 2011

Day Twenty-Two

ten things about you people don’t really expect

1. I have 10 siblings that have given me more than 20 beautiful nieces and nephews.
2. I am 30 years old, I know it is a shock, I am a young hottie.
3. I hate chocolate cake and love chocolate ice cream.
4. I have a watermelon addiction, I could eat a whole melon in a night.
5. I have been married for almost 6 years, which is shocking here in Idaho because people have been married for 2 days here and they think it is a long time.
6. I hate nylons, they annoy me and I only wear them when I have to.
7. I will chose Pepsi over Coke any day there is so much of a difference although many do not agree with me. Pepsi just tastes much better.
8. I never wanted to be a teacher when I was younger I wanted to be a nurse, and I use to make fun of my friends who wanted to be teacher's. Now I am a teacher and they would laugh at me.
9. As of right now I am infertile. I am becoming ok with it and am excited to start the adoption process. Here in Idaho people assume by the time you have been married for 5 years you should have a child and so I get some really nasty comments from people.
10. I love having a large family and my amazing sister's being my best friends. I would do anything for them and I know they would do the same for me.

Day Twenty-One

something you can’t seem to get over

I can't seem to get over how much I love Oregon. If I could I would have no problem getting a job here in Idaho and staying here forever. However, I miss Oregon so much and every time I go there to visit I don't want to leave. Not only is it beautiful but I have the best family in the world there.

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Day Twenty

the last argument you had

Last night Jacob and I had a little disagreement. Which is nothing new. However, when you love someone and are sealed t them for eternity you know the little arguments are not important in the big picture.

Day Nineteen

something that never fails to make you feel better

My amazing Husband Jacob and a nice big glass of Jamba Juice. If I am having a rough day Jacob can always make me smile. Also, like when I was a little girl and 7-up made me feel better Jamba has now taken it's place.

Day Eighteen

disrespecting parents

I feel that there is nothing worse than disrespecting your parents. Although at times you may not also like the way you are interacting with your parents they are always your parents and will always be there for you. I have the best family ever especially my parents and I would feel awful disrespecting them after all they have done for me.

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Day Seventeen

things that make you scared

I am deathly afraid of roller coasters or any kind of amusement ride. I also am super scared of high things, like waterside, towers (lighthouses), etc. I like being on solid ground.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Day sixteen

three things you are proud about your personality

1. I am funny. I like to think I have a great sense of humor. I love to make people laugh and to laugh with them. Sometimes I try fail at making people laugh but no one is perfect.

2. I honestly care about everyone. I treat my best friends like sisters (it helps that my three sisters are also my best friends) and my nieces and nephews like my children. I try to be the best friend I can and an aunt the kids can look up to.

. I am sometimes to a fault. I will tell it like it is. I don't sugar coat things but I like it that way.

Monday, September 12, 2011

Day Fifteen

the best thing to happen to you this week

One of the little boys in my class said that I had beautiful eyes. I thought that it was so sweet of him.

Sunday, September 11, 2011

Day Fourteen

something disgusting you do

This is really gross but I pick my scabs. It is really gross because then I get scars and it looks ridiculous. I have no idea why I do it, I just have since I was a little girl.

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Day Thirteen

a date you would love to go on
This is Italy!!! Someday I would love to go here with my hubby. It would be the best date ever. We could go to a fabulous restaurant, then ride a gondola then to our fabulous hotel! :)

Friday, September 9, 2011

Day Twelve

things you want to say to an ex

I dated a few guys before Jacob but none of them were really serious and anything I experienced just made me a stronger person. I am glad nothing else worked out because I am so happy to be married to such a wonderful man.

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Day Eleven

your current relationship, if single discuss how being single is

Married as you all know and he is simply amazing.

Sorry this is such a boring post.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Day Ten

your view on drugs and alcohol

After seeing how my extended family acts when they are under the influence of alcohol it makes me happy for my standards. The Lord knows what is good for us and that is why he gave us commandments. Even when I was younger and living in a town where I hung out with people that drank and smoke I was never tempted. I have wonderful parents and I was taught at a young age what was expected of me. I remember telling my 8th grade class I was never going to drink alcohol and they all laughed. I am prod I can still say that.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Day Nine

your last kiss

Too long ago. Jacob has been out of town for almost a week and he came home sick. I was not about to kiss him because the last thing I need right now is to get sick. Love him thought and can't wait until he is better.

Monday, September 5, 2011

Day Eight

something you’re currently worrying about

That we will never be able to use the brand new baby clothes that we have in our spare bedroom closet. I am hopeful that we will be able to adopt but it is always a concern.

Did I mention that most of the clothes are adorable Gymboree

Sunday, September 4, 2011

Day Seven

your opinion on cheating on people

I think it is SICK
I would never cheat, it is so disrespectful

Although I was just dating him at the time, someone I cared about a lot cheated on my when I was around 20 and I will never forget it.

I am so lucky to have the husband I do because I know he will

NEVER

Cheat

I think I have said enough. I think it is disgusting and I would never cheat on Jacob.

I realize things happen and people make mistakes. That is why is I was ever cheated on I would forgive.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Day Six

the person you like and why you like them

I really really really like Jacob Moore. I kinda more than like him. I love him. Although sometimes I like him to know he is the only one I like. I can't believe we have already been married for over 5 years. Time has flown by so fast. We have been through so much and I was lucky to have him by my side. He is so good with our nieces and nephews, he loves them very much. I cannot wait to see him as a father. I know he will be amazing.

Friday, September 2, 2011

Day Five

five things that irritate you about the opposite sex/same sex.

Opposite
1. All they can talk about is sports.
2. Most of them act as if they were raised in a barn.
3. Assuming a woman's place is in the home, and assuming the dishes and cleaning is a woman's job.
4. They don't take things as seriously as woman do.
5. When they are a size 4 in the gym working out and complaining about their bodies.

Same
1. They think they are better than anyone else.
2. If they are single all they can talk about is how they want to find a man.
3. When they are married all they can talk about is their man.
4. When they walk around wearing super short shorts and sluty shirts.
5. They are always comparing.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Day Four

what you wear to bed.
This is from a sleep-over with my niece. I guess you can't really tell but I just wear a t-shirt and shorts or PJ bottoms. I am not really picky I just don't like being hot.

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Day Three

what kinda person attracts you?

6 ft

Brown Hair

Part Japanese

Brown eyes

Pretty much a Super Hottie!!!!!

My dang handsome hubby. I am so luck to have him in my life.

We have so much fun together. We are a perfect fit and I am lucky to be married to him for eternity.
