We went to Utah!

A couple of weeks ago we went to Utah to see Jacob's family, also because we had a three day weekend!

This is Jayden our freakin' cute nephew! He is so fun and getting so big, we just love him.

Here is another picture of him. He scooted under the table from his play mat. He just wanted some attention.

This is my super sister in law Whitney. Her and her husband make us an authentic Mexican dinner for our anniversary.
Whitney's husband Robert frying up the shells.
Doesn't it look good. So they had these shells, beef, green salsa, lettuce, avocado and special Mexican cheese. They were the BOMB!
Making the shells together. How romantic! LOL
A picture with me and my dinner. So yummy.

*C*O*L*D!!!

Gotta love when it is 17 degrees and sunny. Kinda gives you a false sense that it is going to be warm outside!

Help Me!!!

So we are pretty broke, our anniversary is tomorrow. I need fun ideas of something to get for Jacob or ideas of something to do. Please help me. I know it is short notice, but to tell you the truth with school it was kinda put on the back burner.

I'm a runner! Kinda.

So I am in this class called fit for life. It is a fun class, our professor is an retired professional baseball player (He has us call him Coach). He also quit working for different colleges coaching baseball to work at BYU-I. Anyway, he is totally extreme. He said, " You are going to run 1.5 miles, you are not going to like it, it is going to be hard, I am going to be mean but you will finish". I felt like he was a drill Sargent. Any who, I finished!!!!! I ran/walked walked it and finished in 24 minutes. Not a great time but at least I finished. I also got to wear my new shoes.

We have had a great week!

We love Rexburg so far, and I am sure it is only going to get better. I love BYU-I, and we love our ward. I actually like the snow, which is good because it snows a lot. They had a good snow on Christmas, and when we got here on New Years there was some still left. A couple days before school started it snowed again.

This is a picture out our front window of the snow. Rexburg is so pretty with all of the snow.
Heading to school on the first day! I know I am cute, so you don't have to tell me. The second day at school on the way in, I turned around to tell Jacob to meet me for lunch and wasn't paying attention and fell because I slipped on ice. It was pretty embarrassing.

Jacob and I drove to Idaho falls to go out to dinner to celebrate him getting a great Job, we also got to dress up. We went to TGI Friday's. It is the first time I have been there and it was super good. Jacob got a job at Lexington Law.
Now you may think this is stupid, but I just had to post about how much Hot Chocolate we go through. We make at least one batch a day sometimes two. (one batch is two mugs).

So I just have to tell you how amazing my wonderful husband is. He went out with someone from the ward to collect fast offerings. So I was picking up the house before the relief society presidency, elders quorum presidency and the ward missionary came over (ya, it was a busy Sunday). Anyway back to my story, I heard someone shoveling the walkway and so I peeked through the blinds to see who was doing it. To my surprise it was Jacob, I was so proud of him because it isn't our week to do it. I told him he was sweet and he said he did it because tomorrow when it freezes he didn't want me to slip (or anyone else but mostly me). I have such a great husband.

This is what I miss most!!!!!!!

A day or so before we left Eugene I had the awesome opportunity to spend some much needed time with some of my nieces and nephews. My mom was babysitting and since we were staying with her we were able to join in on the fun! We decided to teach them how to make fudge.

We had Maddie Kay, Little Julian and Shane.
Mom teaching Shane how to level off the sugar!
He is pretty much a pro at it!

Next comes the milk.

Mom teaching Julian how to be still when you pour milk.

He did really good, until.........

Just a little spill, but the pic makes it look big. All the kids thought it looked like a shark. I would have to totally agree.

Then it was Madison's turn with the butter.

She didn't want any help, and did great!

And the Jet-puff marshmallow cream!

Don't forget the vanilla.

Gotta have the chocolate chips.

They all wanted to be around the stove which is hard for five people.

Now this is what happens if you try to make fudge with three children, sometimes you forget to follow directions completely. The first time we did not make fudge.

So Madison, Julian and I had Popsicles while...........

Grandma and Shane ran across the street to Albertsons for more ingredients.

and this time we made some fudge.

I really do miss my family, I was telling my mom about this post and started bawling. Just know Andrea, Nicole, Julian and Denise that we love you so much and miss you even more.

This is how we roll!

We made it to Rexburg just fine. The snow stayed on the side of the road which is how we like it. The drive was long but Jacob and I had a ton of fun together. We were welcomed to Rexburg by the beautiful temple up on the hill.
This is how we slept our first two days here, that is until we get our bed today. It's o.k. I know you wish you guys could sleep on the ground too!
