Date to the temple and the river!!!

Since we just moved into a new place (which costs a lot of $) and we got a new car (which also costs tons of $)  we really have no money for the extras in life.  So we decided since we had a tank full of gas and a night off together we would drive to Idaho Falls and go to the visitors center at the temple and then walk around the river.  It was such a nice day and a wonderful drive together.

Jacob was really interested in the family search center in the visitors center.  He was looking up some family on his Mom's side. I made him leave because I didn't want to be driving home in the dark but we will have to go back before to long.

The Christus.  They have some benches right in front of it and they play a recording just like they do in the Salt Lake Visitors Center.

This area was all about "I am a Mormon".  I would love for my house to look like this.   I was very impressed by how all of the areas looked so different but were so cool.

Jacob and I in front of the temple.  We walked around it and then headed to the river, which is across the street.

So Beautiful

I didn't want to walk far because I had already done my 7 mile walk for the day and so my legs were a little tired.  We walked to a new area of the river we had never been to so it was fun to look around.

Just a bridge across the river but I thought that it looked really pretty.

Just me!!!  I love the shirt I am wearing and it is the first time it fit me.  Nicole gave it to me when I was in Eugene in July.  Now that I have lost almost 30 pounds it fits so good.

They are building a Japanese garden.  I can't wait it looks like it is going to be so cool.  When they are finished we will go and take some pictures.

I sure do LOVE this man!!!!! <3

We decided to walk complete around the path which was three miles.  I saw this on the path and knew it was meant for me (lol) because after my 7 miles earlier in the day and then 3 miles with Jacob my legs were so sore and I was exhausted.

On our way back and almost to the car.  I love that we can so something simple like go on a walk and have so much fun doing it together.

To dance or not to dance.

My friends Sarah and Shannon invited Jacob and I to go Latin dancing with their roommates.  Well, Jacob hates dancing.  He thinks he "sucks" so he will not even try.  I finally convinced him to go with me.  I put on my fancy "dancing" shoes.  I was ready.
We thought the lessons started at 9pm and they really started at 8.  We were told the dancing was free and it was really $2.   What so you do when you have no money and you are ready to dance?   You go outside and make a sad face.

Just me

My handsome hubby

We thought since we were already dressed up and ready for a date we went to the temple and walked around.  We only lasted about 5 minutes because it was freezing.

Our new ride

Jacob and I had been without a car for almost a year when we found our 1998 Chevy Lumina in October.  We were able to get it for $700.00 and it seemed like a great deal at the time because it was running great.  Well not long after the car would not start every one and awhile.  Then it finally dies and so we had t get it fixed.  $300 later we had a "new" fuel pump that made so much noise we always had to have the radio on.  Just recently it started not starting again and now they think it is the starter.  Also, the heater works but only on defrost, so in negative weather it is very cold.  Needless to say it was time to look for a new car because I work about 10 miles out of town and need a way to get to school.  We don't have the best credit right now so I thought it was a lost cause.  One night Jacob asked me if he could call around and see if we could get qualified for a loan somewhere.  Is aid sure, because I knew it was not going to happen.  Well when I woke up from my nap he had gotten us qualified and had 5  cars we could look at.  When we got to the dealership they had a 2011 Chevy Impala that they thought would be perfect.  Well, after driving it we realized it was.  We had rented one before and really liked it.  We decided to buy the car that night, Last Friday.
Jacob right before we went to sign the papers for the car.  He is super excited if you couldn't tell.

Me, excited but nervous.

They had just gotten the car in and had not detailed it yet or anything.  Plus we do not have a checking account so we had to figure something else out for the down payment.  So we had to leave the car there for a few days.  Which worked out because we were able to use the gas in our old car before we turned it in.

We went back today to pay the down payment and pick up the car.  I was so nervous to drive it home because it is so new.

Me driving home on the freeway. We got the car in Idaho Falls which is about 30 minutes from Rexburg.

Loving it!!!!!

I sure do love us

So shiny.  It is a really pretty silver color.

We love our new purchase and are very excited for all of the adventures we will take in it.   We can't wait to get it paid off though.

My new coats and sweaters!

So Jacob and I went to Idaho Falls (for those of you that don't know Idaho, Idaho falls is about 30mins from Rexburg) about a month ago so I could buy some new bras. You know how that goes. Well the Lane Bryant here has two entrances to the two sides of the store, so I purposely walked in the sides with the bras because I knew we did not have any extra money and so I did not want to get tempted by the clothes. Well I picked out some $6.99 bras. I was very impressed with my find. Then low and behold I see Jacob over in the clearance area with an arm full of clothes.
This is one of his finds. It is a long sweater, you can't tell by the picture. I thought it was going to look awful but I actually really like it. It was Reg 49.99 we got it for $6.99.
Then he found me this pea coat and he was very proud of himself. He said that there was another couple in front of the rack and he was just hoping and praying that they didn't grab it. I didn't know if I would like this either but I love it. Reg 69.99 we got it for 6.99!
This is my treanchcoat/raincoat. I absolutely love it. It is regularly 119.99 and I thought it was 6.99, we got to the register and they said it was 20.00 but I loved it so much and it was such a good deal I had to get it. I thought it looked really cute with my skirt I wear to church.
This demin coat too was 6.99, I wasn't sure what I thought about it. However, I did wear it to school and I got a ton of compliments. I guess it looked pretty good then. I think in some ways it makes my torso seem really short.

Anyway, my Jacob is so cute. I told him thank you, because we got over 500.00 in clothes for around $50.00. He told me that he loves to go shopping with me because he loves to see me happy. I thought that was so sweet. I hate waiting around while other people try stuff on. I guess a guy will do anything for love.

Do you think I can sew???

Since we don't have anything to use our spare bedroom for it is my new craft room.
My Mother-in-law gave me this sewing table, fabric scraps and basket of sewing treats for Christmas. My mom gave Jacob and I the sewing machine for Christmas. I am going to try to sew something this week but who knows. Next semester I am going to take a sewing class, then I will be a pro.

My mother-in-law told me they were having a sale at Joanne's on patterns for $1 each. I had to just go look and then I got addicted. We got 18 patterns and saved almost $300.00. I got one for Table Toppers ( Place mats, table cloths and table runners), one for window covers, three for outfits for me, and outfit for my mom, 2 for Halloween costumes, and 10 for different baby stuff. I figures the baby stuff would come in handy for all the baby's that people are having in our ward. If I ever learn how to sew.
This is the pattern that Jacob bought me for Valentine's day. I thought it was super sweet. He wanted me to have something to learn on. Then he said that someday our baby could wear it.
Denise, This one is for you. These two dresses are super cute and they would look adorable on Alia. You can look them up online and see which one is your favorite or if you even like them. I can tell you the number so you can look it up.
This one Jacob thought would look cute on Alia too, so we got this one for an idea.
I thought this was super cool because then you can make you crib set in any color or pattern you want to. It doesn't look to hard either.
This one I just thought looked fun.
I really like this one because it has diaper bags, burp cloths, changing pads, poppy pillow, and bib. They are probably super hard but I am going to be a pro, lets just remember that.

I got a new phone! I am so excited.

I got an Envy 2. It was my second choice, I really wanted the voyager. However it is $400.00 and I think that is ridiculous. My new phone is just one step down so it has most of the same features except mobile TV. I am not to sad about that. I was just so tired of my razor because it is dumb. It is red tto, so that makes it even more cool. I LOVE IT!

At times I am really dumb!

So yesterday I went to the mall with my mom to buy a mothers day present for my mother-in-law. I know it is early but the store I wanted to buy it from is closing. Any who, I dropped my beautiful engagement, wedding and anniversary rings off at the jewelry store and i left them there. I know they are OK but I feel so stupid. To make matters worse I didn't realize until this morning when I was sitting in class.

What to do????

I have no idea when I am ever going to know what I am going to do with my life. When I was really young I was going to be a doctor. That is until I found out that blood freaks me out. Then in middle school and high school I wanted to be a physical therapist. Jacob Whipple and I were going to get married and open a business together. Huh Jake. Well obviously that didn't happen. Then I was going to be a sign language interpreter, then I got carpal tunnel syndrome and was advised to change my path. For the last two year I have been going to school for Elementary education. Which is cool and I think that I would have tons of fun. Now I am thinking I might want to teach Middle School history or Biology. I have no idea but I wish I did. What do you all think. Am I just totally crazy or just going through normal steps in life.

Jacob and I got a HOT deal on a laptop. We got a HP Pavillion dv9000. I have no idea what that means but I do know that it usually costs $900.00 and we got it for $350.00. Pretty much we are amaizing. I am so excited to be able to write papers while at school. Lets face it, I am also excited to check my e-mail and things when class gets boring. I just wanted to tell you guys our exciting news.

Stupid text books

So this is kinda random, but I went to the bookstore today to buy my school books before our trip to Utah. While there I realized that they only had one of my books. That's o.k. though because the one book that I did buy was $92. A ninety two dollars, paperback, 462 page book titled Drugs, Behavior and modern society. Are you kidding me. I am seriously so sick by how much school books cost. Anyway, that's enough complaining from me. I hope that you all are having a good week and that it gets even better.

My pirate birthday present

So for all of you that don't know I love pirates. I remember watching the very first pirates of the Caribbean movie with Ashley Whipple and thinking, man I want to be a pirate. Now I know you are all laughing, but this is not fun and games this is serious. I have many different pirate items, however my very favorite is my newest addition. For my birthday my hubby bought me a pirate Build-A-Bear. His name is Goldtooth, he came equipped with a parrot & sword. Jacob and I added the black hair for looks. I love it! The best present I could have asked for.

Happy 26th birthday to me!!!!

So on the 11th of August, I turned 26. I know, now I am over a quarter of a century. I'm sad, I kinda feel old. It was a good day, I slept in and just hung out at home during the day with Jacob. We went to watch Transformers with Mom & Dad and then on to dinner at Mcgrath's, my favorite restaurant. I have the best husband a girl could ever ask for and awesome parents. They made the night fun!
