This weekend I walked the 5K with Danielle, the walk was awesome. I felt kinda bad at first, because we were gonna pay the entry fee for me to walk it also. However, when we went to get Danielle's packet the day before the race (this is when we decided that I would walk it too). They said that the entry deadline had ended the day before at midnight ; {
I then asked them if I could just ask walk it with her and they said that they don't like people do that they actually have a name for them (they call them pirates people who walk without paying). The reason that they don't like folks to do that is cause the entry fee goes to pay for the water/energy goo stations, police assistance, and the ton of water, fruit, chocolate milk etc. that is available at the end of the race. Also it pays for the medal that Danielle received.
K so I was just gonna walk on the sidewalks along the side so that I could still do it with Dani, then when the started Dani said come on it's fine there are a lot of people that don't have a shirt or numbers. So I walked it with her and it was a really fun experience. The first 1.7 miles was entirely uphill. However, the view of all of all the rolling hills, was extremely beautiful.
Danielle and I are also going to be walking a 5K this Saturday the 20th and then another one on the 4th of July. Then on July 18th were doing a 10K and then in September we plan on doing a 1/2 Marathon. We are super stoked and can't wait to keep doing more races. We love doing them now and they are a huge motivator. We decided that yes they do cost money however, we'd rather spend money on the entry fees than on eating out or other crap that we'd been wasting money on. Sorry that this has been super long but I had to tell everyone. I am so proud of Danielle and I know that y'all are too.
I personally wanna give a shot out to my sister-in-law Andrea Schwake. Part of me knows that Andrea's recent Marathon or 1/2 Marathon (Sorry Andrea I couldn't remember if you did a half or a full) has definitely inspired Dani and I to start doing them as well. I love My Amazing Wife so much and am so proud of her for doing the 5K yesterday. Thanks for reading and hopefully this will be the first of many contributions to come on our blog from me!!!

Woo Hoo you two! Keep up the great work!
Jacob- I did the half, but you can definitely give me credit for the whole.. ;-) Isn't is so fun to work out as a couple. Eric and I finished the half-marathon holding hands. That was awesome to do it together. Too bad the photos for a cd are $50 otherwise I would have a picture.
I am glad I could motivate Danielle. You guys are doing great and I am so proud of you both!!! Keep it up. You guys will be half your size next time we see you with all of the walking you are doing.
Andrea- Thanks for the support. I am hoping that by the next time you see us, we won't be half our size. Because that means it will be a long time (I don't think I can go w/o seeing y'all and the kids for that long). But we'll definitely be smaller. LOL. By thanks giving I am predicting that Dani will have lost 15-20% of her body weight (she hit 5% today and we weren't working out as much then) I think that I'll definitely be at 20% as long as I can stop drinking my Sobe Energy drinks (they aren't carbonated, we both committed to not drink soda to Dani's fit for life teacher) the Sobe's are very addicting to me. However, life is about conquering those things I guess. Like you said "it is awesome to do it together" this next one Dani and I will definitely hold hands across the finish line. Take care and give the kids xoxo for me.
